File Mile Lookout on 5 Mile Butte at Mount Hood Eastside. Built in the 1930s by the CCCs, it is no longer an active fire watch station. One could say it is in semi-retirement as the Forest Service now rents it for overnight stays for hikers, bikers, snowshoers, bird watchers and general outdoor enthusiasts,at least those who are not afraid of heights.
