A new blingin' Trek 820 frame...

[ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
After completing a couple of fun custom build bike projects in the basement during the winter of 2010/2011, I decided to completely restore and modify my old 1994 Trek 820. This bike has significant value to me as it was my first mountain bike, had over 3,700 miles on it, and had been with me through the thick and thin of life.

I tore the bike down to the frame, and took it to a local chrome shop in town, Salt Lake Chrome. After a few weeks I picked up the frame wrapped in brown paper. As soon as I got it outside in the sun, the paper came off and a pretty neat frame emerged... bright, blinging chrome!

This photo doesn't really do the frame justice as it's not in direct sun, but you get the idea.
