Bells Mountain

Looking from the Cold Creek bottom up into a clearcut bisected by BM Trail. I know Timber is necessary but it sure mucks up a forest.

Pretty typical up here too... I made an effort to do my part in clear cutting today! Following in the footsteps of tradition, the four and seven year old kiddos walked up into the muskeg with me this morning and we sawed down a 18' tall hemlock then whacked off half before huffing it home on my shoulder to prop upright in our living room! Tis the season to give and to receive, right? The tree gives and we receive graciously.

Malibu I'm not a tree hugger

Really, I'm not. I was in the home building biz a lot of years and know that I wouldn't have had a business without the lumber. I just wish they wouldn't use trail beds for access roads for one but I know that is sometimes the easiest or only route.

Your story sounds kinda Clark Grizwald--"Hey Grizwald, where ya gonna put a tree that big?"
